Iran Ministry of Culture addresses expatriate artists' concert prospects

The Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has addressed the ongoing debate regarding expatriate artists returning to the country. Following the return of Mohsen Namjoo, who stated his primary goal is to be near family rather than pursuing artistic activities, speculation has increased regarding potential concerts by overseas musicians.

The Director General of the Music Office at the Ministry clarified that an artist's return to Iran does not automatically imply they will hold concerts. He noted that no official requests for concerts from expatriate artists have been received by his office to date. He emphasized that if a producer submits a formal request, the legal process for issuing permits will follow standard procedures.

This discussion follows previous reports from the Minister of Culture regarding a list of approximately 100 prominent individuals living abroad. The ministry aims to address potential obstacles for Iranians residing overseas, though the feasibility of musical performances by high-profile figures remains a subject of public speculation.
