Iran Ministry of Education denies textbook shortages
Seyyed Ali Hosseini, Director General of the Middle School Education Office at Iran’s Ministry of Education, stated that there is no shortage of textbooks in the country. He explained that textbooks are distributed through schools based on family orders and noted that any perceived delays may be due to school administrators ordering books in bulk for later distribution.
Addressing criticisms from teachers regarding content and volume, Hosseini remarked that while some educators have raised concerns about the weight and subject matter of certain books, the content does not have fundamental flaws. He noted that the Organization for Research and Educational Planning continuously updates materials to meet modern needs. He also mentioned that certain new books, such as ‘From Me to God,’ are optional, allowing teachers to continue using previous versions if preferred.
