Iran Ministry of Education warns against foreign online schools

The Iranian Ministry of Education has issued a warning regarding the legality and validity of diplomas issued by foreign online schools operating within the country. Mohammad Salimi, head of the Center for International Affairs and Foreign Schools, stated that these institutions lack official permits and operate without regulatory oversight from the Ministry.

Salimi noted that students enrolled in these online programs are not registered in official national educational systems, such as ‘Sanad’ or ‘Sida,’ leaving them in an uncertain educational status. Furthermore, the diplomas issued by these centers are not recognized by the Commission for the Evaluation of Foreign Academic Credentials.

Because these institutions do not comply with the educational, supervisory, or legal standards of the Islamic Republic of Iran, their certificates will not be evaluated. This lack of recognition creates significant obstacles for students attempting to pursue higher education at domestic universities or advance to higher academic levels.
