Iran mobile phone market sees sharp rise in mid-range prices

The Iranian mobile phone market is experiencing a significant surge in prices for mid-range devices. While the demand and prices for high-end flagship models have seen some stabilization, mid-range smartphones—typically favored by the general public—have seen costs rise sharply, with some models exceeding 100 million tomans.

According to Reza Taghipour Anvari, a member of the Parliament's Industries and Mines Commission, this price hike is attributed to a lack of information management regarding inventory, imports, and production. The market is also being impacted by currency fluctuations and broader economic pressures.

Recent price data shows significant increases across various brands. For instance, certain Xiaomi CMF models saw price jumps of over 46 percent. High-end Apple iPhone models, such as the iPhone 16 Pro Max, are listed at approximately 399 million tomans, while Samsung Galaxy Ultra models reach up to 346 million tomans.
