Iran offers Hormuz security if US stops aggression; Armenia faces EAEU risks
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Iran is prepared to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz, provided the United States ceases its aggressive actions and interventions. This proposal is part of a seven-point program offered by Tehran. Speaking in Baghdad during a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Araghchi noted that instability in the Strait carries economic consequences for both the region and the world, attributing such instability to military aggression by the US and Israel.
Separately, reports regarding the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) indicate that if Armenia suspends its membership, the country could lose its free trade status with several partners, including Iran, Vietnam, Serbia, Mongolia, and the UAE. A report by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council highlights risks associated with Armenia potentially joining the European Union, noting that such a move would raise questions regarding Yerevan's status within the EAEU.
