Iran officials threaten Netanyahu as Mossad ex-chief calls for regime change
Tensions between Iran and Israel have escalated following aggressive rhetoric from high-ranking officials. Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned Israel against reigniting war, stating that Tehran would send Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ‘hell’ and claiming that Netanyahu’s errors are accelerating the end of the Israeli state.
Rezaei identified Beirut and southern Lebanon as ‘red lines’ for Iran, asserting that Israeli forces are unable to advance in those areas due to losses inflicted by Hezbollah and threats from Iran. He noted that Hezbollah’s leadership is increasingly capable of independent decision-making.
In a separate development, former Mossad chief David Barnea called for increased economic, diplomatic, and operational pressure on the Iranian government. Barnea stated that there is ‘no choice’ but to escalate actions until the current regime falls, arguing that the Iranian issue is a global concern involving ballistic missiles, terrorism, and nuclear weapons development.
