Iran petrochemical sector expands credit sales to support downstream industries
The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) reported that over 507,704 tons of petrochemical products were sold on credit to downstream industries during the first half of the year. This credit-based trading is part of a strategic effort to address liquidity and working capital challenges faced by downstream manufacturers seeking raw materials.
In total, more than 945,000 tons of petrochemical products were offered on credit, out of a total supply exceeding 3 million tons. The NPC aims to use these credit sales to strengthen the value chain, prevent raw material shortages, reduce imports, and boost economic growth and employment.
Separately, Tabriz Petrochemical Company is preparing for its initial public offering (IPO) on the Tehran Stock Exchange. The company's management stated that they have secured raw material supplies for the next six to twelve months and noted a significant increase in exports, with 30 percent of their products currently destined for international markets.
