Iran plans smart energy management to reduce industrial consumption

Mohammad Mohsen Sadr, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, has announced plans to implement smart energy management systems to address the country's energy imbalance. The initiative focuses on two key areas: smart management systems for government buildings and monitoring systems for large-scale industries.

In collaboration with Sharif University of Technology, technical service descriptions have been developed for energy-intensive sectors, including steel, aluminum, and iron ore. Implementing these smart monitoring systems is expected to reduce energy consumption in large industries by 20% to 30%.

A pilot program for government buildings has already demonstrated a reduction in energy consumption of over 20% after two months of implementation. While the Information Technology Organization is providing the technical infrastructure, officials emphasized that the successful expansion of these programs depends on the commitment and follow-up of the relevant industries and governing bodies.
