Iran poultry market eyes increased exports amid price updates

Current poultry market data in Iran shows live chicken prices ranging between 260,000 and 270,000 Tomans per kilogram, while warm chicken is priced between 320,000 and 330,000 Tomans. Prices may fluctuate by up to 10,000 Tomans depending on the region.

Reza Mobsari, secretary of the Chicken Meat Chain Producers Association, stated that following approvals from the food security working group, export licenses have begun to be issued. Recently, licenses for 8,000 tons of chicken were obtained, with shipments expected to start early this week. It is estimated that between 10,000 and 15,000 tons of chicken could be exported monthly in the second half of the year, potentially generating between $18 million and $27 million in monthly export value.

With the removal of previous subsidies on animal feed, Iranian poultry prices are now close to global market rates, with only a 2% to 3% price difference compared to competitors like Turkey. The industry currently has a monthly production capacity of approximately 230,000 to 240,000 tons of chicken meat.
