Iran prioritizes digital transformation in energy and transit sectors

Iran is prioritizing digital transformation across its energy and transportation sectors to enhance efficiency and regional connectivity. In the energy sector, the Ahvaz Electricity Distribution Company reported a 34 percent increase in connection sales during the first half of the year. The company is focusing on grid smartening in the second half of the year and has successfully regulated 69 unauthorized agricultural transformers, totaling approximately 5.5 megawatts of load.

In the logistics sector, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh emphasized the importance of digitalizing transit corridors to reduce costs and transit times. Speaking at an international transport forum in Kazakhstan, Sadegh highlighted the potential of the North-South International Corridor and the integration of Chabahar Port into the national rail network to serve Central Asian landlocked countries. The ministry aims to utilize smart technologies, such as integrated customs management and automated cargo tracking, to improve supply chain optimization and regional trade competitiveness.
