Iran reports arrests and business closures amid security crackdowns

Security forces and judicial authorities in Iran have carried out several recent operations involving arrests and business closures. In Kermanshah, members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested two individuals on allegations of communicating with espionage services. During the operation, authorities reportedly seized weapons, ammunition, and ten Starlink satellite internet devices. State media released videos of what are described as forced confessions from the detainees.

In Aran and Bidgol, police officials confirmed the closure of a sports and recreational facility due to alleged “irregularities and violations.” While specific details regarding the nature of these violations were not provided, human rights reports indicate that such closures in Iran are frequently linked to non-professional issues, such as compliance with mandatory hijab laws or religious observance.

Additionally, several members of the Baha'i community remain in detention across different regions. In Isfahan, 19-year-old Parsa Najafi has been held in Dashtgard Prison for over 140 days without clear legal status or access to family communication. In Shiraz, three Baha'i citizens—Sarina Zaeri, Barbad Sepehri, and Arshia Jaberi—have been held at Adel Abad Prison for 42 days without specified charges.
