Iran reports significant growth in tax revenues and capital market financing
Iran has seen substantial increases in various financial sectors during the first six months of the current year. The head of the National Tax Administration reported a 56 percent growth in tax revenues, exceeding initial projections. This increase is attributed to the digitalization of tax systems, the implementation of the retail terminal law, and improved efforts to combat tax evasion without increasing the burden on registered taxpayers.
In the capital markets, financing through various methods grew by 42 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 899 trillion tomans. This total includes over 205 trillion tomans from equity methods such as initial public offerings and capital increases, and 676 trillion tomans from the issuance of various debt securities. Government entities accounted for 86.1 percent of debt security issuances.
Additionally, in Fars province, value-added tax allocations to municipal and rural management authorities saw a 67 percent increase. A total of 62 trillion rials was allocated to municipalities, village administrations, and nomadic affairs to support infrastructure and service projects.
