Iran reports stable supply and decreasing prices for essential food commodities

Officials in Iran report that there are no shortages of essential food commodities within the distribution networks of wholesalers and retailers. In Khuzestan, the Market Regulation Headquarters stated that protein products, legumes, fruits, vegetables, rice, and oil are being supplied through established distribution channels. Surplus poultry production is being managed through freezing and storage to maintain market stability.

The Minister of Jihad-e-Agriculture noted that 85 percent of the country's food supply relies on domestic production, with measures in place to manage the remaining 15 percent through imports. Recent data from the Statistical Centre of Iran indicates a downward trend in the prices of several essential goods. While poultry, rice, oil, sugar, and red meat have shown relative price stability, some fluctuations in egg prices have been observed, which officials attribute to alignment with actual production costs.

Market monitoring continues through joint inspection teams involving agricultural, industrial, and trade authorities to prevent irregularities and ensure supply continuity.
