Iran resumes ballistic missile production in underground facilities

Iran has resumed the production of ballistic missiles in limited quantities by assembling existing components stored prior to recent conflicts, according to reports citing US and Middle Eastern officials. The assembly process is reportedly taking place within fortified underground facilities, such as the Khojir missile complex near Tehran, to protect operations from aerial detection and strikes.

While production has restarted, current volumes remain significantly lower than pre-war levels. This decrease is attributed to damage sustained by manufacturing infrastructure during US and Israeli strikes, which targeted facilities involved in fuel production, weapon assembly, and component manufacturing.

Despite the damage to key sites like Parchin, Hakimiyeh, and Shahroud, Iran appears to have retained sufficient stockpiles of components to replenish parts of its arsenal. The country is also reportedly constructing additional underground sites to increase the resilience and concealment of its missile-production network against future attacks.
