Iran road transport cargo movement rises 30 percent during conflict
Reza Akbari, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and head of the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, reported a 30 percent increase in cargo movement during recent periods of conflict and aerial attacks.
Akbari stated that despite the challenges posed by wartime conditions and attacks on ports and loading points, the organization maintained essential services. The increase in cargo transport was attributed to the efforts of drivers and key industry stakeholders, ensuring that daily needs were met and goods reached their destinations without interruption.
In addition to cargo, the organization managed passenger transportation via land routes to accommodate travelers, pilgrims, and residents of islands such as Kish and Qeshm during periods when airspace was restricted.
