Iran says it is in full‑scale war as leadership’s whereabouts questioned

Saudi media Al‑Hadath, citing an Israeli source, reported that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is no longer in the country and that recent messages attributed to him were likely drafted by IRGC chief Ahmad Vahidi. The report also warned of internal clashes that could threaten the Revolutionary Guard’s existence, though no official response has been recorded.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told a Supreme Judicial Council meeting that the nation is engaged in a full‑scale war that now extends to the economy. He highlighted severe economic pressure from U.S. sanctions, infrastructure attacks, an 88% inflation rate and rising unemployment, describing the conflict as more than a missile exchange and warning of social unrest if conditions worsen.
