Iran Social Security Organization announces pension arrears and loan increases
The Social Security Organization of Iran has announced that unpaid salary increments and the third phase of pension adjustments from May will be paid to 5.3 million retirees and pensioners on October 28. The organization attributed the delay to financial resource limitations and imbalances between resources and expenditures.
Gholamhossein Mohammadi, the acting head of the Social Security Organization, stated that the organization is prioritizing the livelihood and healthcare of retirees. He reported that the number of loans provided to retirees has increased to 40,000 cases per month.
Additionally, Mohammadi noted that approximately 4 trillion tomans have been paid regarding supplementary insurance claims. Starting in November, resources for retirees' supplementary insurance will be deposited into separate intermediary accounts to ensure dedicated spending. The organization is also working to settle debts with university medical centers and state-run healthcare facilities through various financial instruments.
