Iran Subsidy Targeting Organization guarantees uninterrupted cash payments

Hassan Norouzi, head of the Subsidy Targeting Organization, has announced that cash subsidies will be paid without delay until the end of the year. He stated that all unavoidable expenditures have been met on time through the organization's own resources and assistance from the Plan and Budget Organization.

Regarding potential changes to subsidy recipients or income decile classifications, Norouzi clarified that the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare is the authority responsible for such decisions. He noted that while the law requires households to be categorized into income groups, it does not specifically mandate a ten-decile system, allowing for different grouping methods.

Additionally, the official reported that approximately 8.5 million tons of wheat were purchased during the 1404-1405 agricultural year, representing a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year. The total value of the purchased wheat, including farmer insurance shares, amounted to 410 trillion tomans, with the majority of payments to wheat farmers completed at the beginning of Mehr.
