Iran threatens to scrap US cease‑fire as Gulf attacks heighten regional tensions
Iran warned it could stop observing the preliminary peace pact with the United States if Washington again breaches the agreement, a statement delivered by a Tehran representative at the United Nations. The warning follows renewed US airstrikes on Iranian targets and a series of retaliatory attacks by Iran on American forces stationed in Qatar and Oman, which were intercepted by Qatari air defenses.
Poland’s embassy in Doha issued its highest travel advisory – “Nie podróżuj” (“Do not travel”) – for Qatar, extending the warning to transit passengers. The advisory cites the ongoing hostilities and the risk of further attacks in the region. Iran’s recent strike activity has also disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, pushing crude oil prices above $100 a barrel and raising LNG costs, impacts felt in European markets including Poland.
