Iran distributes electronic grocery coupons to final household group

The Iranian Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare has completed the distribution of electronic grocery coupons for the month of Mordad. This latest disbursement, occurring on August 27 (5 Shahrivar), targets household heads whose national ID numbers end in 7, 8, or 9.

Eligible individuals receive 1 million tomans per person, which can be used at contracted supermarkets and chain stores. This group includes those who recently completed residency verification processes via the national real estate and housing system after receiving notification via SMS.

The distribution follows a new 10-day interval schedule. Previous groups, including those with national IDs ending in 0, 1, and 2, received their credits on August 6, while those with IDs ending in 3, 4, 5, and 6 received theirs on August 16.

Labor Minister Ahmad Midri noted that while a draft for increasing coupon amounts has been prepared, any such adjustment requires agreement between the government and parliament due to economic and social sensitivities.
