Iran to establish boards of trustees for all public schools

The Supreme Council of Education has approved new regulations that will establish boards of trustees for all public schools in Iran. According to Mousa-Reza Kafash, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council, these boards will serve as supporters for schools, assisting with equipment, financial matters, and support for underprivileged students.

Under the new regulations, the collection of any mandatory fees or tuition from parents in public schools is strictly prohibited. The final version of the regulation is awaiting signatures from the Minister of Education and the Presidency, with implementation expected to begin in the new year.

Additionally, the Council has approved changes to the qualitative and descriptive assessment regulations for the primary education period. This includes the cancellation of the coordinated end-of-year examinations previously held for sixth-grade students. The Council has also approved a new regulation regarding health and the support of athletic talents among students.
