Iran traffic police announce weekend restrictions on northern roads

Iranian traffic police have announced significant weekend travel restrictions on major northern routes, including the Chalus, Haraz, and Fasham roads, to manage increased traffic volume.

On the Chalus axis, vehicle movement from the beginning of the Tehran-North Freeway toward Chalus (south to north) is prohibited starting at 14:00. From 15:00, the route from the beginning of Zangoleh Bridge toward Chalus will be completely closed, and from 16:00, the Marzanabad to Tehran route will operate as a one-way system until midnight.

On the Haraz axis, all trucks and light trucks are banned from 08:00 to 24:00, though vehicles carrying fuel or perishable goods are exempt. Police may also implement temporary one-way restrictions between Polur and the Larijan police station depending on traffic density.

In Fasham, one-way traffic management will be implemented from 17:00 to 20:00 near Hajiabad Bridge and Ariana Curve. Additionally, motorcycle travel is prohibited on several routes, including Karaj-Chalus and Haraz, until 06:00 on Saturday.
