Iran Urges Mass Participation in Leader’s Memorial Ceremony
Iran’s government, parliament and judiciary issued a joint statement inviting the public to attend a commemorative ceremony for the martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution on 28 July. The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran and stresses national unity, loyalty to revolutionary ideals and the defence of the country’s independence and security.
In a Friday sermon in Isfahan, Hojatoleslam Ahmad Mahmoudi highlighted the massive public turnout at the funeral, calling the display of national resolve a shock to Iran’s adversaries. He argued that deterrence cannot be achieved through negotiations, urging stronger economic self‑reliance, public participation and internal resilience to counter hostile threats.
