Iran urges Qatar to investigate missing pilots amid regional tensions

Tensions have escalated between Iran and Qatar following Tehran's demand for a fact-finding mission regarding Iranian pilots allegedly missing since March. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that transparency is essential to determine the fate of the pilots, characterizing the situation as a humanitarian concern.

Qatar has rejected these allegations, maintaining that no Iranian pilots are in custody. Qatari officials asserted that Iranian aircraft violated their airspace earlier this year and described Tehran's claims as baseless. Araghchi noted that this dispute is separate from other regional diplomatic matters, such as discussions with Oman and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Separately, the Arab League issued a condemnation of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. The organization labeled the attacks a violation of international law and a threat to regional stability, expressing solidarity with Lebanon amid concerns of further escalation in the Middle East.
