The Iranian currency market is experiencing significant volatility, with the US dollar reaching new highs near 211,000 to 214,000 Tomans. This surge is attributed to heightened regional political and military tensions, as well as chronic domestic inflation. Tether also reached a record high of 212,000 Tomans in the local market.

In response to market instability, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, stated that an economic collapse is unlikely and that the bank is prepared to supply up to $2 billion in foreign currency to stabilize the market. He noted that approximately $18 billion in foreign currency has been supplied since the beginning of the year.

Despite official assurances, some financial analysts remain cautious. Milad Zamani predicted that the dollar could climb between 250,000 and 270,000 Tomans by the end of the year, citing increased sanctions and reduced oil export revenues as primary drivers of currency depreciation.
