Iran warns Germany that its military bases are legitimate targets

Iran has issued a warning to Germany, stating that all German military bases and facilities in the region would become “legitimate defense targets” if Berlin openly participates in military aggression against Tehran. The threat was communicated through various channels following what Tehran describes as increased “anti-Iranian efforts” by Germany.

The diplomatic escalation follows a ruling by a Hamburg court, which convicted two individuals, Ali Hassan Sarwari and Tawab Mohsini, for plotting a terrorist conspiracy. The court found they had planned an assassination attempt against German politician Volker Beck and intended to commit arson against a Jewish supermarket in Berlin.

In response to the court's decision, the German government summoned the Iranian ambassador. Iran has countered by protesting what it calls “unfounded accusations” against Iranians living in Germany and has criticized the E3 (France, Germany, and the United Kingdom) for their stance regarding US and Israeli actions in the region.
