Iran warns UN of US and Israeli threats to energy infrastructure
Iran has issued a formal warning to the United Nations Secretary-General and the Security Council regarding threats from the United States and Israel. Iranian diplomat Gholam Hossein Darzi stated that recent rhetoric from U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz poses a serious threat to Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The warning specifically addresses potential military actions targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure. Iran cited reports regarding the possible use of the GBU-43/B ‘mother of all bombs’ and expressed concern over Israeli statements about conducting preemptive strikes to target all energy facilities.
Iran argues that threatening civilian infrastructure and the energy sector constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law. The Iranian government is calling for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to hold Washington and Tel Aviv accountable and to prevent further escalation that could impact regional and international security.
