Iran wins gold at World Junior Wrestling Championships

At the World Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, Iran secured multiple medals, including gold from Abolfazl Mohammadnejad and Sina Khalili. Mohammadnejad won the 125 kg weight class by defeating Darshan Ras of the United States 5-1 in the final, following victories over opponents from Russia, Ukraine, and Armenia.

In the 92 kg category, Iran's Abolfazl Rahmani Azadkar narrowly missed the gold medal. Leading 2-0 with only seconds remaining, Rahmani was defeated by Georgia's Sandro Kurashevili, who executed a four-point throw in the final moments to win 5-2. Despite Iranian protests, video reviews confirmed the points for Georgia, marking Georgia's first U20 freestyle world title in 13 years. Other Iranian results included a bronze medal for Ahura Khatiri in the 61 kg weight class.
