Iran Zakat capacity for grains estimated at 10 trillion tomans

Habibollah Asudeh, Deputy for Public Participation Development at the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, announced that the estimated capacity for mandatory Zakat on four major grain types in Iran is at least 10 trillion tomans. He noted that the actual capacity could be significantly higher when including products like dates.

During a meeting in Bushehr Province, Asudeh emphasized the need for realistic Zakat targets based on regional economic and production capacities. He proposed using Zakat resources to establish interest-free loan funds and support entrepreneurship projects to empower needy families and create sustainable capital.

In a separate development in Ilam Province, local tribes participated in a large-scale nighttime gathering at 22 Bahman Square to demonstrate support for national defense. Farshad Yasmi, Director General of Tribal Affairs for Ilam, described the tribes as a strategic reserve for the revolution and highlighted their historical role in protecting borders and participating in national production.
