Iranian academics address cognitive warfare and social resilience

Academic officials in Iran have issued warnings regarding the impact of cognitive warfare and the necessity of maintaining social hope. During an awards ceremony for the ‘Phoenix Ritual’ national campaign at Kharazmi University, officials emphasized that modern conflict extends beyond traditional military engagement into media and cognitive domains.

Ali-Akbar Imani, Cultural Deputy at Kharazmi University, stated that adversaries utilize media tools and cognitive warfare to induce despair and weaken the will of the resistance. He noted that universities must play a role in strengthening national identity and fostering hope to prevent external influences from exploiting public pessimism.

Morteza Motaharpour, head of the Representative Office of the Supreme Leader at Alborz universities, further explained that cognitive warfare aims to alter beliefs, distort realities, and influence public perception and lifestyle. He argued that the most effective defense against such tactics is the accurate and honest narration of facts to maintain social trust and public confidence.
