Iranian Army Chief declares decisive phase in conflict with US

Iranian Army Chief Major General Amir Hatami has stated that the conflict with the United States has not ended but has entered a “decisive phase.” Speaking at a military ceremony, Hatami asserted that while Iran has achieved success in the conflict, it is essential to consolidate these gains. He instructed the Iranian military to remain prepared for any potential future attacks.

Hatami emphasized that Iran stands against the United States and Israel, noting that the Iranian people have demonstrated a commitment to defending their sovereignty and security. He maintained that Iran will not accept external pressure or the use of force within the region.

These remarks come amid uncertainty regarding ceasefire negotiations and diplomatic communications between Tehran and Washington. Iranian officials have reportedly sent proposals through mediators, including Muscat, regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and ending the conflict.

Army spokesperson Mohammad Akramnia added that the armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any new American attacks, warning that the opposing side could face even greater losses. The Strait of Hormuz remains a central point of tension, with Hatami stating that Iran will not accept a situation where it cannot conduct its own trade while other powers utilize the region's vital maritime routes.
