Iranian authorities seize smuggled fabric and illegal crypto miners

Economic security police in Iran have conducted two significant seizures targeting smuggling and energy theft.

In the Qom province, officers intercepted a truck on the Garmsar-Qom route. Upon inspecting the vehicle's documentation against its contents, officials discovered a discrepancy between the customs papers and the actual cargo. The shipment, consisting of smuggled fabric destined for Tehran, is estimated to be worth 210 billion rials. The driver has been referred to judicial authorities.

In Bandar Abbas, HORMOGAN economic security police raided a residential property following intelligence gathering. The operation resulted in the seizure of 11 unauthorized cryptocurrency mining devices and related equipment, valued at approximately 22 billion rials. Authorities stated that illegal mining activities place excessive pressure on the national electricity distribution network and are treated as a form of commodity smuggling.
