Iranian cargo plane linked to IRGC flies to Minsk

An Iranian Boeing 747 cargo aircraft, operated by Fars Air Qeshm, conducted a series of flights involving Belarus and Russia between August 26 and August 28. The aircraft, identified by the registration EP-FAB, arrived in Minsk from Tehran on August 26.

Following its arrival, the plane performed several maneuvers, including a nearly five-hour flight over Russian territory on August 27 before returning to Minsk. The aircraft departed Minsk for Tehran on August 28, landing in the Iranian capital in the afternoon.

Fars Air Qeshm and its Boeing 747 fleet are under United States Treasury sanctions, dating back to January 2019. U.S. officials have previously alleged that the airline uses its aircraft to transport cargo on behalf of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), specifically to destinations such as Syria. While flight tracking data confirms the movement of the aircraft, the specific nature of the cargo transported remains unknown.
