Iranian General Abdollahi warns nations acting as US shield will face war
Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al‑Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned on 31 July 2026 that any country that becomes a “defensive shield” for the United States would “burn in the fire of war.” He accused Washington of accelerating a regional war, exploiting the capital, wealth, infrastructure and strategic resources of Muslim states to support its own military and to bolster Israel, which he described as a “child‑killing terrorist regime.”
Abdollahi urged Muslim nations to monitor U.S. actions, reconsider cooperation with Washington, and avoid aligning with the United States, saying failure to do so would expose them to the costs of a broader conflict. The remarks came amid reports that the United States was planning extensive strikes on Iranian energy facilities and that President Donald Trump had threatened further attacks on Iran. Iranian officials said the warning was intended to deter regional states from facilitating U.S. military operations and to signal Tehran’s readiness to respond to any escalation.
