Iranian courts issue prison sentences to Saeed Ejadi and Soheil Arabi

In separate legal proceedings in Iran, two individuals have received prison sentences following trials in revolutionary courts.

Saeed Ejadi, a 37-year-old from Kermanshah province, was sentenced by the Qazvin Revolutionary Court to 21 years in prison. The charges against him include participating in the intentional destruction of public property (10 years), conspiracy against internal security (5 years), membership in hostile groups (5 years), and propaganda against the regime (1 year). Additionally, Ejadi received supplementary penalties including a two-year ban on social media activity and a two-year travel ban. His case has been referred to the Supreme Court for review.

In Tehran, the appellate court upheld a five-year prison sentence for blogger and citizen journalist Soheil Arabi. The court confirmed the original ruling from the Tehran Revolutionary Court regarding charges of conspiracy against national security. As a supplementary penalty, Arabi is banned from engaging in any profession related to social media activity for two years. The case involved reports from security agencies concerning his social media posts and his support for detainees following the December protests.
