Iranian drones strike Kurdish opposition camp in Iraq

Three drones targeted a refugee camp belonging to the Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan, an Iranian Kurdish opposition group, in the Surdash area of Sulaymaniyah province, northern Iraq. The attack occurred in the early morning hours near the Iranian border.

While the strike caused material damage and flames were reported rising from buildings, officials from the party and the Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish) confirmed there were no casualties.

The incident is part of a pattern of strikes against Kurdish opposition groups in the region. According to party officials, Komala has been targeted over 100 times with missiles and drones since the escalation of conflicts involving Iran and the United States. Other opposition groups, such as the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan, have also reported significant numbers of attacks, with more than 30 people killed in various strikes to date.
