Iranian football clubs file complaints over refereeing and misconduct
Tractor SC and Persepolis FC have both launched formal complaints against Iranian football authorities following controversial matches.
Tractor SC CEO Seyed Hojat Karimi announced intentions to escalate grievances to FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The club is contesting the official match reports from their recent game against Malavan, alleging that racist and ethnic chants were not documented by the referee or match inspector. Karimi stated that if these incidents were omitted, it constitutes a false report, and if they were recorded, the officials failed in their legal duty to suspend the match.
Separately, Persepolis FC has submitted an official protest to the Iran Football League Organization and the Referees Committee regarding their match against Foolad Khuzestan. The club criticized the performance of referee Amir Arab-Baraghi, demanding a transparent review of his decisions and management of the game to ensure fair treatment for all teams.
