Iranian Footballers and Legends Discuss Domestic and International Challenges
Iranian footballer Mobin Dehghan, currently playing in the United Arab Emirates for Al Wahda, has addressed reports regarding a potential transfer to Persepolis. Dehghan stated that while Persepolis expressed interest in signing him during a pre-season camp in Germany, Al Wahda officials refused to allow the move. He noted that the club did not respond to Persepolis's formal inquiry and intended to keep him in their squad.
Separately, former national team goalkeeper Rasul Karbakandi expressed concerns regarding the trajectory of Iranian football. Speaking at an event commemorating the 73rd anniversary of Sepahan SC, Karbakandi argued that the sport in Iran has stalled due to a lack of cultural planning. He highlighted issues ranging from spectator behavior to the conduct of national players, suggesting that the failure to implement effective cultural frameworks is undermining the future of the sport.
