Intrum reports billion-kronor write-down and earnings miss

Credit management company Intrum reported a significant financial downturn in its third-quarter results. The company posted an adjusted operating profit of 976 million SEK, falling short of the 1,049 million SEK anticipated by analysts. The reported operating profit was -266 million SEK, significantly lower than the analyst average of 1,472 million SEK.

Intrum is performing a goodwill write-down of 1.5 billion SEK in Germany. CEO Johan Åkerblom noted that while the company is making progress on its 'Intrum 2030' strategy—specifically regarding debt reduction through a 7.5 billion SEK capital raise and a 2.5 billion SEK portfolio sale to Brocc—servicing revenues remain under pressure.

Revenue in the servicing segment decreased during the quarter, driven by declining portfolios in Greece and Spain, as well as a negative trend in Germany. While traditional markets saw low single-digit growth, the company expects external servicing revenues for the full year to be lower than in 2025.
