Iranian media warns of inevitable conflict with US and Israel

An Iranian publication close to Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that a third war is inevitable, claiming that Washington and Tel Aviv have already decided to initiate the next conflict.

In an op-ed responding to remarks by Hossein Marashi, Seyed Mohammad Mehdi Hashemi argued that recent statements from Donald Trump and Marco Rubio indicate that tactical concessions or retreats by Iran will not prevent military action. Hashemi noted that the political logic of US officials does not distinguish between the Iranian government and the Islamic Republic in a way that would allow for successful negotiation to avoid conflict.

The commentary suggests that historical patterns of engagement and message exchanges between Tehran and Washington are unlikely to have a tangible effect until after a subsequent confrontation occurs.
