Iranian officials address economic security and agricultural growth
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that following the failure of U.S. military pressure, adversaries have shifted their focus toward economic and internal security challenges. During a meeting with the Law Enforcement Command, Ghalibaf emphasized the need for the three branches of government to prioritize infrastructure, economic, and livelihood support for the armed forces, particularly the police.
Separately, Member of Parliament Peyman Falsafi, head of the Agricultural Fraction, reported that the agricultural sector has seen a 3% growth rate this year, recovering from a 5% decline in the previous year due to management issues and power outages. Falsafi noted that while the government has addressed the majority of farmers' claims, approximately 5% of the 17 trillion toman debt remains outstanding. He also discussed the need for increased government support regarding subsidies and basic goods to bolster economic resilience.
