Iranian Parliament addresses impeachment requests and water projects

Members of the Iranian Parliament are addressing legislative procedures, impeachment requests, and regional infrastructure projects. Reza Sedighi, Secretary of the Social Commission, noted that under orders from the Supreme National Security Council, no more than 80 representatives may gather in one location simultaneously to ensure the continuity of parliamentary functions during potential security incidents.

Regarding regional development, Sedighi detailed the funding plan for the Aras water transfer project to Tabriz. Following unsuccessful attempts to secure financing, the project will now be funded through contributions from the Ministry of Energy, the Central Bank, and the Mes Sungun company. He also highlighted progress on the Urmia-Tabriz highway and healthcare infrastructure in the region.

Separately, parliamentary discussions have surfaced regarding requests to impeach various ministers. Representative Mohammad Taghi Naghdali emphasized the need to prioritize impeachment proceedings related to economic issues, such as currency fluctuations and import stability, as well as concerns regarding diplomatic approaches. Parliament leadership stated that once impeachment requests are reviewed by commissions, the matter will be brought to the presiding board to determine the agenda.
