Iranian Parliament investigates misuse of funds in Qom hospital project

The Health and Treatment Commission of the Iranian Parliament has launched an investigation into the construction and equipment of a hospital in Qom. Reports presented to the commission suggest that an individual with political connections has allegedly misused government resources and public funds to facilitate the project.

Salman Eshaghi, spokesperson for the commission, stated that a special committee has been ordered to examine the entire financial process. This includes the procurement of construction credits, the allocation of funds for medical equipment, and the overall use of state resources. The commission aims to ensure that public funds intended for healthcare are not diverted for personal gain. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be submitted to judicial and supervisory authorities for legal action.
