Iranian Parliament members address economic security and judicial sentencing

During a session of the Iranian Parliament, Representative Ali Babaei Karami emphasized that sustainable security cannot be achieved through military means alone. He argued that true security is rooted in social justice, economic stability, and public satisfaction. Karami identified the economic front as the most critical area of struggle, calling for improvements in livelihoods, job security for youth, and the protection of pension funds.

In a separate development within the same parliamentary session, Representative Hamid Rasaee announced that he has been sentenced to 10 months in prison. Rasaee stated that the sentence stems from a legal complaint filed by Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf regarding comments made in the '9 Dey' weekly publication. Rasaee contested the legality of the sentence, arguing that spreading falsehoods typically results in financial penalties rather than imprisonment and noting that the duration of the sentence exceeds standard legal precedents for first-time offenders.
