Iran President Pezeshkian viral video debunked

Claims circulating on social media that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian bowed to touch the feet of Hindu spiritual leader Jagadguru Swami Satishacharya Maharaj during the BRICS Summit in New Delhi have been debunked as misleading.

Reports from the Iranian Embassy and eyewitnesses clarify that the President was actually bending down to retrieve a fallen object, identified by some sources as a note and others as a pen, during an interfaith and cultural dialogue reception at The Oberoi Hotel. The viral footage was misinterpreted by users who suggested the gesture was a traditional Hindu act of reverence, which is not a custom for Muslim leaders.

The meeting between Pezeshkian and the spiritual leader, the Peethadhishwar of Premeshwar Dham, was part of Iran’s cultural engagement efforts during the summit.
