Iranian provinces suspend government offices and banks for mourning ceremonies
The provinces of Golestan and Hormozgan in Iran announced the temporary closure of non‑essential administrative offices, banks, and educational institutions. Golestan set the shutdown for Wednesday, 17 Tir (early July) and Hormozgan for Tuesday, 16 Tir, to facilitate participation in nationwide mourning ceremonies for the late Ayatollah and the funeral events in Mashhad.
Essential services such as health care, energy, communications, public transport, fire, police and other emergency or utility operations remained operational, and banks arranged special shift branches to serve the public during the closures.
