Iranian sports update: Women's Futsal League groups set and football results

The groups for the new season of the Women's Futsal Premier League have been determined. The competition will feature 15 teams divided into two groups of seven and eight teams respectively. In Group 1, Palayesh Naft Isfahan will compete against Esteghlal Tehran, Golbarg Takestan, Naft Omidieh, Mes Rafsanjan, Hofari Ahvaz, and Pishtazan Khorramabad. Group 2 includes Sepahan Isfahan, Palayesh Naft Abadan, Foolad Hormozgan, Khorasan Razavi Football Board, Iran Zamin Malard, Polyvital Delijan, Teknik Bartar Babolsar, and Parseh Kerman.

In men's football, Sepahan secured a significant victory against Fajr, while Zob Ahan played to a draw against Nassaji in Qaemshahr. The Zob Ahan match was marked by controversy regarding VAR decisions, specifically a disallowed late goal that could have secured a win for the Isfahan-based side. Zob Ahan currently sits in 13th place in the standings with seven points.

Additionally, the Iranian Women's National Futsal Team is expected to participate in a four-team tournament in China in mid-November, which may cause a temporary hiatus in the domestic league schedule.
