Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei Threatens US and Suspends Ceasefire Memorandum

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned the United States of an "unforgettable lesson" as hostilities between Tehran and Washington intensified. In the same statement, Iran announced it was suspending all obligations under the US‑Iran Memorandum of Understanding on cease‑fire, citing ongoing U.S. military strikes as a breach of the agreement.

An Israeli security source claimed Khamenei is not currently in Iran and that his public messages are being drafted by senior IRGC officials, including Ahmad Vahabzadeh. The source also suggested internal divisions within Iran’s leadership and noted that the United States prefers Israel not become involved in any further Iranian retaliation.

Khamenei has avoided public appearances for security reasons since his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was killed in the February 28 U.S.–Israeli strikes.
