Iranian television announces weekend film schedule

Iranian television networks have announced a diverse lineup of films for the upcoming weekend broadcast.

Channel One (Shabakeh Yek) will air the 1976 film ‘The Message’, directed by Mustafa Akkad and starring Anthony Quinn. The film depicts the life of the Prophet Muhammad, covering significant historical events from his mission at age 40 to his death, including the battles of Badr and Uhud.

Channel Four (Shabakeh Chahar) is scheduled to broadcast a theatrical adaptation of ‘War Horse’, directed by Marianne Elliott. This production, which follows a horse sent to France during World War I, is based on the work recently staged at the National Theatre in London.

Additionally, the film ‘Wind Brothers’ (2015), directed by Gerardo Olivares and Ottmar Pentner and starring Jean Reno, will be aired on the Namayesh channel.
