Iran's Chief of Staff calls for enhanced defense readiness and deterrence

Major General Ali Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, has emphasized the necessity of restructuring and restoring defense capabilities to strengthen national deterrence. Speaking during a ceremony to honor the late Minister Nasirzadeh and introduce Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi as the new Minister of Defense and Support Logistics, Abdollahi highlighted the lessons learned from recent conflicts.

He stated that future warfare will involve combined, technological, informational, and cognitive dimensions. Consequently, the armed forces must plan for emerging threats by enhancing domestic technologies in areas such as missiles, drones, air defense, naval equipment, electronics, and communications. He also called for the effective integration of artificial intelligence and advanced sciences into military planning. Additionally, Abdollahi stressed the importance of supporting the livelihoods of armed forces personnel.
